From the Peoria (IL) Journal Star, Tuesday, May 11, 2004:

MORTON, IL - Virginia Mae Lindsay, 82, of 107 Cypress Ave. died at 1:27 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL.

Born Aug. 7, 1921, in Kilbourne, IL to Benjamin and Mae M. Craggs Sutton, she married William Lindsay on June 2, 1940, in Havana. He died April 19, 1971.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Surviving is one daughter, Dr. Patricia Lindsay of Peoria, Ariz.; and her caregiver, Sharon (and Parker) Lawlis of Normal, who had lived with her.

She was a clerk/operator for AT&T in Canton and Peoria for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Havana.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, where visitation will be one hour before. A nephew, the Rev. Rodney Lindsay, will officiate. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to her church.
