- ↑ Staples, Virginia S. "Gini", Grand Rapids, Michigan, Formerly of Saginaw. Started her journey on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at her son's home. Age 91 years. Virginia S. Spray was born August 14, 1915 in Park Ridge, IL to the late Judd and Margaret (Williams) Spray. Gini graduated from Birmingham School for Girls near Tyrone, PA. She attended and later graduated from U of M in 1937. She married Lynn W. Staples in 1939. He predeceased her in 1977. Gini became active in the Junior League performing various volunteer services during World War II and after. Gini was also very active in the READ Program and at one time served as President. She also worked for some time with handicapped children and she was active with the Hospice Program since its beginning in Saginaw. In addition she spent several years working for the Carmen Company in real estate sales. Gini belonged to the Saginaw Club and the Saginaw Country Club. Gini is survived by four children: Mark (Sue) Staples of Wallingford PA, Stephen Staples of Pasadena, CA, Nancy (Nick) Volisin of Visalia, Ca, Guy Staples and Laura Verlin of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
