Virginia L. Schmueck, age 90, of Steger, IL, formerly of So. Chicago Heights, passed away on Saturday, May 24. Virginia Schmueck is survived by two sons, David (Sharon) of Chicago and John (Wendy) Schmueck of St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ian (Melanie) Schmueck, Jordan, Michael and Erica Schmueck; by one great-grandchild, Delilah; and a brother, George (Yvonne) Newquist. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1981; her parents, John A. and Anna Newquist; and a brother, Robert. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12 W. 34th Pl., Steger, with Services conducted by Rev. Craig Meissner. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Steger. Visitation for Virginia will be held on Wednesday, May 28 from 5 til 9 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL. Virginia was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Altar Guild. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church appreciated. Information, 708-755-6100
