Virginia L. Beal New Alexandria

Virginia L. Beal, 86, of New Alexandria, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Somerset, a daughter of the late Harry Horner and Margaret Custer. Virginia was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church of Glen Coe and the New Alexandria Senior Center. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert E. Beal; two brothers, Ralph and Harry "Bud"; and a sister, Alice Lohr. She is survived by her three children, Bill Beal and wife, Cindy, of Irwin, Ken Beal and wife, Sue, of Pasadena, Md., and Linda Hazlett and husband, Denny, of New Alexandria. There are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Rick Helsel. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Somerset County. Interment will be private for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Alexandria Senior Center, New Alexandria, PA 15670.
