The Daily Press (Elk Co., PA) 9/12/2002: "Virginia W. Schauer, 92, of 132 Terrace Road died Wednesday, September 11 at Elk Regional Health Center. She was born March 17, 1910 in Arroyo, daughter of the late Edward and Laura Laughner Webster. On May 30, 1943 in Brockway, she married Raymond A. "Jack" Schauer, who preceded her in death January 1, 1972. Mrs. Schauer graduated from St. Marys High School, class of 1929. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Senior Center in St. Marys. She is survived by a daughter, Lauren (Mrs. William H.) Storer Jr. of St. Marys; a son, Raymond W. Schauer of Hermitage; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Storer of St. Marys, Marla Schauer of Leechburg and Raeann Schauer of Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Edna I. Schoening and Helen Coleman; and a brother, Kenneth Webster. Funeral services for Virginia W. Schauer will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with the Rev. David R. Vaughn, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-9 p.m."
