Mrs. Violet M. Kemmerer, 79, of Pohopoco Drive, Franklin township, Lehighton, Passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. she was the widow of LeRoy W. "Pat" Kemmerer, Sr., who died on June 10, 2001.
Born in Lehighton she was a daughter of late Howard and Helen (Frey) Lauchnor.
She was a 1960 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.
She had been employed at the Lehighton Area school District. She worked at Franklin elementary and the middle and High School, retiring as the head cafeteria cool. She also worked at Scotty's Fashions in Lehighton, Pa.
Violet and Pat also operated a farm stand, selling homegrown vegetables from their gardens.
For many years, she had treated clients using reflexology.
She was a member of the Big Creek Grange and St. Paul's Lutheran church, Big Creek.
Violet loved baking with her specialty being donuts for donut Day. Also, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and farming.
Surviving are three children, Mary, wife of Mike Hall of Nesquehoning, LeRoy W. Kemmerer, Jr., of Lehighton and Josh Kemmerer and his wife Crystal of Slatington; a sister, Shirley wife of Jim Barry of Nesquehoning; three grandchildren, Ashley Nothstein, Hayley Kemmerer and Dylan Kemmerer; and two great grand children, Nora and Jackson Nothstein.
SERVICES: All services will be private. Arrangements by Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin Street, Weissport, Pa.
