A Peter Breidenbaugh and a William Breidenbaugh were both residents of Definace Twp., Defiance Co., in 1845. Peter also received a land grant. Is this the reason Henry settled in Defiance and adopted (or was given) the Breidenbaugh name?

Vincent was reported, by his daughter-in-law, to have a drinking problem. On threshing days, he would evidently hit the beer and disappear, often to be found in a drunken stuppor. The reliability of this report told to Anna Rose is questionable, because the Trembleys looked down on the Breidenbaughs.
