OBITUARY: VERTON L. KNIGHT - Coventry 01:00 AM EST on Friday, December 3, 2004 VERTON L. KNIGHT, 81, of Three M. Road, a retired produce manager and kosher specialist, died Sunday in Haven Health Center. He was the husband of Charlotte J. (Faxon) Knight. Born in Coventry, a son of the late Elisha and Hermine (Bedard) Knight, he had lived in the town for many years. Mr. Knight retired in 1979 from the A&P Tea Co., as a produce manager; he had received many awards for service during his 30 years with the company. He also had served the Jewish communities of Rhode Island and Connecticut, as a kosher specialist. Mr. Knight was an Army veteran of World War II. A Native American, he was a member of the Algonquin Tribe of Canada. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Charlene L. Dillon of Exeter and Beverly G. Knight of Monterey, Tenn. He was the brother of the late Hermas and Ermes Knight and Reitha Bedard. The funeral service and burial will be private.
