She was the first librarian in the regional library system and was secretary for the Mountainburg Schools for 18 years.
After completing secretarial school, she met and married Dale Kinnick of Mountainberg in 1935. He was working for BordenÕs Milk Company, and she was a stenographer for a group of attorneys until the beginning of World War II. At that point, she began working for Remington Arms in Bridgeport, Conn., where she lived with her husband and first child until 1944, when Dale was called for the service. The family then moved to Arkansas to be near DaleÕs parents. Leaving the big city to move to a small southern town was a testament to her adventurous spirit and devotion to her husband.
