GRAHAM — Mr. Vernon Webster Parrish, 73, of 116 Glenn Drive, died at 9:31 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Patty Cook Parrish, who survives, and the son of the late DeLancie Leo Parrish and Katie Webster Parrish. He was retired from General Electric and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, and served as church treasurer. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Survivors other than his wife of the home include a foster daughter, Mrs.. Laverne Worley of Graham; a sister, Mrs.. Delona Parrish Hill of Burlington; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Marcia Buntin; and a brother, Mr. Walter L. Parrish. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. William Wolfe, Dr. Dan Bartel, and the Rev. Larry Janey. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, S. Main Street, Graham, N.C. 27253 or to the charity of one’s choice. References
