OBITUARY: Stars and Stripes Newspaper Pacific Edition 7 June 1957 - Page 8 Marine Flier Identified Iwakuni, Japan, (OIS)-Marine Corps authorities here identified 1st Lt. Vernon Knight, 25, as the pilot of the AD-6 “Skyraider” that crashed in the sea five miles southwest of Ube last Saturday morning. Lt. Knight is survived by his wife JoAnne and son, Robert Vernon, 2, of Penscola, Fla., and his mother, Mrs. Lena Hill Knight of Wickenburg, Ariz. Japanese divers, from the city of Moji, recovered the body last Saturday evening.
