THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, October 3, 1935, page _. "VERDA DARLENE BEAL - Verda Darlene Beal, youngest child of Charles and Hazel Beal, born September 11, 1918, near Maxwell, met death in an auto accident in Des Moines, September 25, 1935. In the year 1927, with her parents, she moved to Des Moines. She attended Sunday school at Wesley Methodist church, of Des Moines, also had been a student of East High. She is survived by her parents, two sisters and one brother: Hazel Beal, Mrs. Agnes Williams and Clark Beal. Also her grandparents, Mrs. Agnes Beal, of Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pentz, of Cedar rapids; one nephew, Mervyn Carroll Williams, several uncles and aunts and many other relatives and friends. "The Gathering Place - Life changes all our thoughts of Heaven; At first we think of streets of gold And mansions fair with wealth untold; Of gates of pearl and dazzling light, Of shining wings and robes of white, And things all strange to mortal sight. But in the afterward of years, It is a more familiar place - A home unhurt by sighs or tears, Where waiteth many a well-known face. With passing months it draws more near, And grows more real day by day, Not strange and cold, but very clear, The Glad Homeland not far away - Where none are sick, or poor, or one, The place where we shall find our own. And as we think of all we knew, Who there have met to part no more, Our longing heart desire Home too, With all the strife and trouble o'er." CARD OF THANKS - We wish to express our sincere thanks to the many friends and neighbors who gave us their kindness, sympathy and beautiful floral offerings after the death of our beloved daughter and sister, Verda. Special thanks to Rev. Wise for his consoling words during our late bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Beal and Family."
