Venita Salyars, 102, of Alma, Arkansas entered into rest on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
She was born May 9, 1911 in the Graphic Community the daughter of the late William and Maggie (Sanders) Edwards.
She was a former chief executive assistant housekeeper for Sparks Regional Medical Center for 27 years, and a former employee of Darrel Thomas Company, a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Alma, Arkansas a W.S.C.S. charter member. E.H.C. Charter Member, U.S.D.A Extension H.M.C. Charter Member and member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Venita was the widow of the late Azel L. "Middle Red" Salyars.
Survivors include her daughter, Jaunita Sue Salyars of Alma, Arkansas, sister, Pauline Fisher of Fort Smith and Sara Ruth Armistead and husband Bob of Greenwood, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Hwy Fort Smith, Arkansas with interment at Gracelawn Cemetery, Van Buren, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Jay Gipson, Joe Stewart, Bob Armistead, Jerry Hill, Tracy Lund and Gary Moore.
