Verna's birth record gives her parents as Thomas H. Westfall and Laura V. Hoskins. Her marriage record gives her father as Warren Westfall which agrees with the following obit. That early birth record was probably a transcription of poor handwriting!

Vena M. Knotts, 100, of Orma died Sunday, May 13, 1990, in Calhoun General Hospital, Grantsville, after a long illness.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Warren and Laura Hoskins Westfall. She was a member of Minnora United Methodist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Eucle C. of Millstone, Victor of Sunbury, Pa., Walter of Florida and Charles H. of Charleston; two daughters, Berdine Wayne of Orma and Opal Queen Woodruff of Clairmont, Calif; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Knotts, in 1974; one son, Raymond; and one daughter, Ruby Alexander.

Services were held Wednesday at Minnora United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Hickman and Rev. Phyllis Dye officiating. Burial was in the Minnora Cemetery.

The Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg was in charge of arrangements.
