FINKENBACH-GERSWEILER is a merger of two villages in the German Palatinate. The combined village is located about one mile north of WALDGREHWEILER, another small village, from which many of the early German Reformed pioneers of Jefferson, Bucks, and Auburn Townships of Tuscarawas County had migrated. Later, some of them migrated on to the Urbana, Indiana area. Later arrivals from the Palatinate, went directly on to Wabash Co., Indiana.
