JOHANNES SCHMIDT'S son, William Smith, married Susannah LOWER on 5 Aug 1832, in Coshocton County, Ohio (adjacent to TUSCARAWAS) and later moved to WABASH COUNTY, INDIANA, where some of the family remained. Some of the family moved on to Missouri, and Kansas.

Susannah Lower was from a large group of LOWER families, who settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania, in circa 1737.
