1. _____ Plomer, about whom almost nothing is known, was born say 1515. He probably lived in the parishes of Hertford and/or Amwell, Hertfordshire, for in 1591 property in those parishes was warrantied against claims of his daughters. Possibly he was the Gyles Plomer who appeared on the 1545 subsidy roll for Hertford Towne," assessed 40 shillings 2 pence. He apparently died intestate, as no will for him has been located.
