This account of the Leech family may provide some clues to the family history and migration to America:

"Among the passengers on board an emigrant ship sailing from Londonderry, Ireland, in 1748, were a Leech Family of seven and possibly three Lackey brothers - James, Thomas and William. Five of the Leeches died at sea, leaving only 18 year old Agnes and her 9 year old brother John. Many of these imigrants settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Here in 1754, Thomas Lackey married Agnes Leech and they, with her brother John and his bride, the former Martha McComb, moved up the Shenandoah Valley and settled in the vicinity of Natural Bridge in Augusta County, now Rockbridge County, Virginia." -The Brick Church on Timber Ridge by George West Diehl, McClure Press 1975 He was married to Martha McComb on 18 Apr 1761 in Pennsylvania, U.S.A..
