Facts and Events
CAUTION: This person has NOT been verified to have been a daughter of Jakob and Elizabeth Hildenbrand. The only evidence of her existence is the tombstone (pictured here). However, since any other documentation is not likely to ever be found, it was decided to include her on this WeRelate page, due to the compelling nature of the evidence. Around the top of the tombstone, in German script, is the word CHRISTINA. It clearly states her parent's names. If not THIS Jakob and Elizabeth - then who else could the parents have been? Surprisingly, James Haupert's very good index of burials at the Urbana Cemetery does not show her. On the other hand, her death would have happened before the cemetery records began. The stone says she died at 4 months of age. She died in the same year as her grandfather, Johann Heinrich "Henry" GEIBEL. Were the deaths connected? There were a lot of diseases in those days, and many of these early Urbana pioneers lost children. --White Creek 03:20, 3 November 2013 (UTC) Image Gallery
