Maybe Richard or Thomas?

   There are a few Brightwells mentioned here. In particular, Richard Brightwell and Thomas and wife Molly Brightwell. Is Richard the father of Thomas? Is Richard Thomas' uncle? If Sarah was a widow, this Richard seems to be alive after her husband seems to be dead. Maybe Richard is her brother-in-law? Another possibility is that there was more than one Thomas Brightwell in the Spotsylvania area circa 1721-1800, the years this book covers.
