Name _____ Bailey
Gender Male
Birth? Elland, West Riding of Yorkshire, England
Marriage to Frances Pitchforth

He is most likely William or Joseph Bailey (eldest sons of Richard) but could possibly be the son James who married Sovina Pitchforth.

Sovina Pitchforth's relationship to Frances/Fanny Pitchforth is still unknown. She does not appear in the Elland parish registers. It is possible that she was a sister to Fanny as there seems to be some gap in Jacob Pitchforth's children but most of his children are in the Elland register. Another possiblity might be the Wesleyan records; some of the Baileys appear there and we haven't gotten to those yet.

Elizabeth Pitchforth Long Booth dies in Nebraska and her obit says she came in 1845 to Connecticut "with her parents". She came with Richard & Elizabeth Bailey and a few more of their Bailey children.

This might make us guess that RICHARD could have been her father and she was raised by her father and his wife however on the 1880 census Elizabeth is with William Hulme, husband of Elizabeth Bailey and he lists her relationship as niece.

It seems more probable that Elizabeth was born out of wedlock to wone of Richard and Elizabeth Bailey's sons and that they took her in at some point and became as parents to her when in reality were grandparents but that is only the working theory at this point!
