CHESTERHILL - Ulva Frances Wolfe, 97, of Riverside Country Care (formerly of Chesterhill) passed away at 5 p.m. Friday (Nov. 4, 2005). She was born Oct. 8, 1908, in Otto, W.Va., a daughter of Henry R. and Gracie L. Bissell Keffer. She joined the Methodist Church at a young age and later became associated with the Liberty United Brethren Church near Chesterhill. She has been an active member of the church and taught Sunday school over 50 years, and was a member of the Women's Missionary Fellowship for over 20 years. On March 31, 1934, she was united in marriage to Melvin E. Wolfe. They resided most of their married life on a farm near Bartlett, Ohio. She worked at Viscose in Parkersburg for over 13 years. After the death of her husband in 1962, she lived with and cared for many families. She is survived by a sister, Louella Graham of Heath, Ohio; a broother, Cleo Keffer of McConnelsville; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Steven Edwards; and sisters, Susan and Nancy, whom she cared for when they were young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents; four brothers, Oris, Oral, Charles, and Leroy; and sister, Chlorus Holland. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery. |
