I pick him up in Attala Co., MS in 1840 census - 1male 20/30, 1 male 30/40 & 1 female 15/20... He marries Eliza JOHNSON in 1846 Attala Co.?. I find them in 1850 Attala Co., census. They have 3 dau's born in Attala Co. They have a son b. in Carroll Par, LA, and 3 more children in Morehouse Par. LA They are in Ashley Co., AR in 1860. In same Twp is Eleanor "Ellen" Jones & Mark Fleming. (Ellen was dau of Mary "Polly" Sullivan & Henry JONES of GA) ... Travis & family are living in HH of Mark Fleming's brother.

He married ELI-ZA JOHNSON from Attala Co. Ms. I do not yet know where they were married. I know they had part of their family, (my great grandfather WILL-IAM M. JONES b. 1853) in Carroll Parrish La. and from there they moved to "possibly" Sevier Co., Ar. for a time, as TRAVIS was found in the 1870 census for that Co. with a new wife, MARTHA (maiden name) unknown, and all of TRAVIS (JONES) and ELIZA's children were found living with older bros. and sis. (Thereafter) they moved to Pike Co. Ar. WILLIAM (JONES) built and owned the store in Langley. He was said to have been the first Postmaster of Langley ... I can find no docu-mentation of his being Postmaster, but my Dad is certain of the fact. I am writing to you in hope that you might have this information documented somewhere.
