The State Journal, June 22, 1998 Frankfort Man Dies In Accident

A Frankfort man may have suffered a heart attack before hitting a tree in a fatal accident Sunday, reported Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
Tommy Wayne Cline, 48, of 709 Holmes Street, was 30-40 feet from Lee Lane on Cardwell Lane when his vehicle hit a tree, breaking both of his legs, according to Deputy Sheriff Jim Crouse.
Crouse said Cline had large wounds with very little blood loss. There were no skid marks and no breaks were applied, he said. Cline's foot was still on the gas pedal, Crouse said.
Cline had a history of heart problems and had suffered a heart attack approximately one year ago, said Crouse, and was scheduled to undergo medical testing this week.
There were no witnesses to the accident
Graveside services for Cline will be 1PM Wednesday in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A native of Franklin County, he was a self-employed auto mechanic.
Survivors include three sons, Patrick Cline, Jeffery Cline and Tony Cline, all of Frankfort; two brothers, Garnet Preston, Georgetown, and Paul Cline, Frankfort; one sister, Wanda Landrum, Frankfort, and one grandson.
He was the son of the late Walter and Pauline Johnson Cline
Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
