He must have died early, perhaps before the baptism of his last child, in 1775, since we find Rev. Elias Van Bunschoten, who was then domine at Schaghticoke, standing as sponsor and no father present. And further, Maria Aarsen, "widow of Tobias Van Steenbergen," remarries May 24, 1780.
