- Some internet sites claim that Tirzah Morrison was born in 1735, but this is incorrect (Her parents were married in 1749). She was likely the second wife of Richard Davis, as he clearly had children born in the 1760's, well before his marriage to Tirzah.
- Tirzah married 2nd, Thomas Stewart after the death of Richard Davis, who died intestate in Amherst County, Virginia in 1784.
- An account of a suit of Richard Davis' children: Smithson Davis, Susan Davis and Rachel Davis (dec'd, who married Josiah Harrison) is contained in the following source: Virginia reports: Jefferson--33 Grattan, 1730-1880, By Thomas Johnson Michie, Thomas Jefferson, Peachy Ridgway Grattan, pg. 402-404. Tirzah Morrison's parents, William Morrison (abt. 1728-1761) and Rachel Higgenbotham (bef. 1732-1808/9) were married 27 November 1749 in Amherst County, Virginia, also proving that Tirzah could not have married Richard Davis in 1751, and thus was Richard's likely second wife.
