"Rev. Timothy Stevens, M. A., born 28 January, 1666, was son of Timothy Stevens, of Roxbury, Massachusetts, whose wife was Sarah, probably oldest daughter of Tobias Davis. He is probably the Mr. Stevens who, while teaching a school at Northampton, was invited, in May, 1690, to engage in the ministry at Suffield, Connecticut. He moved to Glastenbury 15 April, 1692, and began to preach on the 17th, received a call 27 July of the same year, was ordained the first minister in October, 1693, which was as soon as the completion of the meeting-house would allow, and died 14 April, 1726."

The rest of my lands in other towns I do give unto my sons, and it is my will that none of that land that is not in Middletown or Glastonbury be sold or exchanged, at least within the space of 25 years after my death. And all the rest of my estate I give also unto my sons. And as for my English books, vist., divinity, physick and history, I give to them and their heirs. In case my sons should all die without heirs, I give my dwelling house and barn with the 2 acres of land that it stands upon, vist., the 2 acres I had of Mr. Benjamin Alford, to the Town of Glastonbury for a parsonage forever, only on this condition, that they shall within a space of 1 year after my decease pay to each of my executors £3.
