MR. TIMOTHY O’LEARY, who was well known all through the district, died on Thursday last, (Oct.3) after an illness of about a month. He was in his sixty-third year. Deceased was a native of the Township of Pickering. For thirteen years he was Chief Ranger of Algonquin Park. For the last summer he has been engaged as lockmaster at Lock No. 2 on the Kirkfield section of the Trent Valley Canal.
In earlier days, Mr. O’Leary was for a number of years Reeve of Mara, and was once elected Warden of the County of Ontario. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss B. Fox, of Mara Township, by whom he had four children. He was married a second time in November, 1883, to Miss Elizabeth Murphy, of the Township of Scott, who survives him. There were five children by this union, four of whom are living.

Jarboe, of Parsons, Kansas; Miss Helen o’Leary, of New York,; Joseph O’Leary, of the Cavendish Lumber Company , Lakefield; Miss Susie O’Leary, who is attending the College of Pedagogy, Toronto; Frank O’Leary, of Toronto; and Miss Clara O’Leary who lives at home. All were home for the funeral except Mrs. Jarboe. His eldest son, John George , died at the age of nineteen. One death occurred in infancy; the other, Marie Theresa died when seven years old.
