↑ Jacobus and Waterman, in Hale, House, point out that Timothy Hale of Suffield could have been either (1) son of Thomas¹ Hale of Hartford, Norwalk and Charlestown, or (2) son of John¹ Heald of Concord, and decided to leave the question open. It is not clear why Threlfall states that Timothy was son of John of Concord without further discussion.
