I believe that the Timothy who married Margaret was the son of James and Mary Linn Bowen, however, he had a cousin Timothy, b. abt 1830, son of William and Henrietta Linn Bowen, who married Amanda Plank and stayed in Nicholas Co. It is possible that the parentages are incorrect.

 Timothy came out to Oregon with his inlaws.
 In the 1860 census for Lee, Brown Co., Illinois, Philip Lynn is 48 farmer from PA; with 'Mrs. C.' 42 PA; Martha 22 KY, W.C. 19; Jno A. 18; B.F. 16; M.E. 14; Josephine 8; P.E. 6; Gran B. 5; and Charlotte 2 -- all born IL. Next door is Timothy Bowen 24 with Mrs. M. J. (Linn) 24; and next door to them is Wm Lynn 24 with family.
 In the 1880 census for Eagle Creek, Clackamas Co., Oregon, T. Bowen is 44 KY; with wife M. Jena 46 KY; children are Luela 19 IL,  M. Jena 17 IL; L. Clara 9 OR. They are next door to W. H. Shankland.
 In the 1900 census for Clackamas Co., Oregon, Timothy Bowen is 64 born Oct 1835 KY (father KY, mother PA), married 39 years; with wife Margaret 66 born Dec 1833 KY, with 1 of 4 children living.
