Timothy Bliss, b. March 22, 1745, d. May 3, 1817. He was the son of Pelatiah Bliss and Hepzibah Goodwin. He married Zerviah Williams She was born March 24, 1745. d. 6 Mar 1823. The Bliss genealogy had no information on her other then her birth date.
"He removed to Vermont in 1780. Both were constituent members of the Congregational Church in Essex, organized Oct. 3, 1797. He was a justice of the peace for many years. [A Mr. Timothy Bliss was in the Vermont Legislature in 1783, 1788, 1799, and also in the convention called in 1791, to act on the adoption of the American Constitution.] " –Bliss genealogy,

Vol III.
(The Bliss Line). (VII) Timothy , son of Pelatiah Bliss , was born March 22, 1745 , died May 3, 1817. He removed to Vermont in 1780 and was a soldier in the revolution in Captain Thomas Bull 's company, Colonel Ira Allen 's regiment, in October, 1780 (Vermont Revolutionary Rolls); also in Captain Thomas Barry 's company, same regiment, March, 1783 , on an alarm. He was quartermaster in Major Ormsby 's detachment sent to suppress an insurrection to the westward in 1781 . He settled in Essex, Vermont , and was a leading citizen there, a constituent member of the Congregational church, October 2, 1797 ; justice of the peace many years; representative in the legislature in 1783-88-99 ; delegate to the state convention to consider the federal constitution.
