    According to my family, her name was Thyria, not Thyra. It was pronounced like thigh ree. I was in the same boy scout troop as her son David.

    This is likely a neighbor's misunderstanding, based on how her name (or nickname) was pronounced. All official records and obituaries give her name as Thyra.
