Mrs Thurza Batten, widow of Mr William Batten, passed away at Pitton on April 30th having reached the advanced age of 83 years. She had lived at Pitton and Farley for the greater part of her life and leaves 10 children, 30 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom are living.

    Death and Funeral of Mrs Batten.

    Mrs. Thurza Batten, widow of Mr William Batten, passed away at Pitton on April 30th having reached the advanced age of 83 years. She had lived at Pitton and Farley for the greater part of her life and leaves 10 children, 30 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, all of whom are living.

    The funeral took place at Farley on Tuesday, the Rev. C M Gay officiating. Among the mourners were Mrs. E Clark (sister). Mr H Batten, and Mr W Batten (sons), Mrs Bowditch, Mrs Isgrove, Mrs C Whitlock, Mrs Gurd, Mrs Vinnelle, and Mrs S. Whitlock (daughters), Mr E Bowditch (grandson), Mrs R. Parsons (granddaughter), Mrs W. Batten (daughter in law), Mr R Parsons (grandson-in-law), Mr E Roberts (nephew), Mrs C Light and Mrs Roberts (nieces), Miss E Collins (cousin), Mrs A Pearce, Mrs A Mills, Miss N Whitlock, Mrs Bealing Mrs Bartlett, and Mr Rowe.

    The family of Mrs Batten take this opportunity of thanking the many friends who have expressed their sympathy, and also those who have kindly sent beautiful flora tributes.
