Near Gordonsville, Va., June 12th, 1864, Thompson, son of Thomas T. and Nancy Burdick, in the 32d year of his age. He was a member of the First N. Y. Dragoons, Company H, and while engaged in battle, received a wound in his breast, from which he died in about an hour. He passed away without regretting having entered his country's service, and with a blessed assurance of life beyond the grave. N. V. H.
