Thomas W. Wynne Born in Charles City County, Va In 1675, Thomas received from his father in Robert Wynne's will: To my eldest son Thomas Wynne one farm in White Staple Parish in Kent near Canterbury, and commonly called Linebett Banckes. Also, To my son Thomas two houses in Canterbury in St. Mildreds' Parish in the same form as the said farm. Also, Touching my estate in Virginia, to my son Thomas all the cattle of his own mark except one cow called Moll which is to be killed for provisions" Deed dated 21st Aprill ano Dom 1690 to Thomas Winn/Wynne: 659 Acres on Black Water the Said Land being due unto the Said Thos. (Executives Journals, Council of Colonial Virginia Vol. II, p 315). On April 24, 1703 the Council upon reading "a petition of the King and Great men of the Nottoway and Meherrin Indians praying the Thomas Wynne be appointed their interpreter in the place of Thomas Blunt with whom they have experienced dissatisfaction, he was accordingly appointed Interpreter to those two tribes and also the Nansemonds. From Randolph Malone: "acted to prevent certain colonists from settling on Indian lands around Bear Swamp and other places belonging to them and for a short time pacified their disatisfactions and uneasiness, but after a time they petitioned for another interpreter on the grounds that he was 'remiss and negligent'." Living and conducting business in Prince George County <../history/va/princegeorge.htm> as early as 1704. In 1703 Prince George was formed from Charles City County. A judge. Listed on the 1704 Quit Rent Rolls with 400 acres of land. On Nov. 30, 1707, he is listed in a request for a survey of 500 acres on Cabin Shick Swamp on the south side of the Nottaway to determine whether the land was in Prince George or Surry Co., VA that on 11/4/1707 he and Agnes made deed gifts to their children Robert Wynne and Mary Wynne in Surry Co., VA. Will was presented in Court at Southwark by Richard Bland administrator on 21 May 1718 Died in Surry County Va Possibly buried at Jones Hole Swamp in Surry Co., Va.
