1 Thomas Woolson, of New Camb. (Newton), m., Nov. 20, 1660, Sarah Hyde [18], and settled in Wat. Farms (Weston). … He was sentenced, Dec. 15, 1685, to a fine of 20s. and costs, 8s., and one hour in the stocks, for selling drink without a license. He was soon after licensed, and kept an Inn from 1686 to 1708. He d. about 1713, and his wid. d. in Sud., Sept. 11, 1721."

Will of "Thomas Woollson of Watertown Farms" [Weston], dated 6 Dec 1708, proved 24 Apr 1713, names eldest son Thomas Woollson; son Joseph Woollson; wife Sarah; daughters Sarah Bond, Elizebeth How & Mary Jones. Wife Sarah to be sole executor.
- The oldest tavern in Weston is that of Thomas Woolson, who settled in the town in 1660. In 1672 he purchased 250 acres of land of Richard Norcross, and in 1697 he bought the farm of John and Richard Coolidge. He was sentenced in 1685 to a fine of 20 shillings and costs and one hour in the stocks for selling drink without a license. He kept a tavern from 1685 to 1708, and dies in 1713.
Thomas lived in that part of ancient Watertown then called Watertown Farms, now the town of Weston, MA, where he was a large landowner and the first innkeeper from 1686 to 1708. He was a selectman in 1699, 1700, 1702, and 1703. He died at age 87 years in Sudbury, MA on 5 April 1713. His wife Sarah died at age 79 years at Sudbury, MA on 11 Sept 1721. Both are buried in a historical cemetery in the heart of the town of Weston, Mass.
Thomas served in the King Phillip's War, Mount Hope Campaign, 27 Aug 1675 under Capt. Prentice and again 23 Sept 1676 under Capt. Poole.
