Thomas,1 WHITEHILL Dear Barbara, I came across several of your messages today at Ancestry.com regarding John R. Whitehill. He is the brother of my great grandfather Thomas Law Whitehill, Jr. Thomas was born January 13, 1837 in Guernsey Co., Ohio. Your great grandfather was named John Reed Whitehill. John and Thomas were the children of Thomas Law Whitehill and Jane Reed (Reid). Jane Reed was born September 11, 1802, the daughter of John Reed and Mary (?) of Ireland. Thomas Law Whitehill, Sr. was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, 1799. Thomas is the son of Thomas Whitehill and Agnes Law. Thomas was born in Scotland and emigrated to the United States around 1770. Agnes Law is the daughter of Thomas Law. Perhaps by now you already have found most of this information. I have the following from a letter written by Robert W. Whitehill of Punxsutawney, Pa. (now deceased) to my Whitehill cousin many years ago: Hopefully you have been able to fill out more of the family tree by now. If so, I would like to exchange information. I have been trying to find out more about the ancestors of Thomas Whitehill and Thomas Law, both living in Pennsylvania in the late 1700's. I also wonder if Robert W. Whitehill was able to locate the family bible which he believed passed down thru Rev. Nelson Whitehill to one of his daughters.
