    November 1695 when an inventory was taken of his estate. He married c. 1689 Mary Blackleach, daughter of John Blackleach and Elizabeth (_____), born c. 1662 in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

    The inventory of the estate of Thomas Welles was taken on 8 November 1695 and valued at £589:07:02 (Manwaring 1:518). It is said of Mary that 'her 2nd and 3rd husbands were appraisers of her 1st husband's estate, and doubtless in mental reservation included the widow in the inventory' (Tuttle 118).
