Thomas(2) Tilden (Richard(1)) was born probably at Benenden after 1541. The greater portion of his life was spent in Tenterden, where he married on March 10, 1576/7, Alice Bigge who was buried at Tenterden May 13, 1593. His second wife, whom he married November 13, 1593, was the widow Ellen (Hubbard) (Cushman) Evernden of Rovilden. As he left a widow Alice, it is obvious that he married a third time. Between 1604 and 1614 Tilden left Tenterden and possibly moved to East Guilford, where he owned lands, across the Sussex border and not far from Tenterden. He was buried at Wye on Jun 6, 1717.
