Facts and Events
The Thomas Stedman family removed to the second parish in Windham, Connecticut. He weas a carpenter and joiner, and built the meetinghouse there which is still a "good country" meetinghouse. It was dedicated March 1754. He and his wife joined the church November 1732 under the care of Rev William Billings, and hwe was chosen deacon 3 December 1733. He died 9 April 1773 in Windham CT, by falling from the load on which he was riding and the wheel or log passed over him, age 75 (George Chandler, "Stedman Family," New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume 14, Page 69ff, January 1860).
