1706 Will of Thomas Stapleton, I:

THE In the name of God, Amen. I Thomas Stapleton of Middlesex County, Virginia, being sick and weake of body but of perfect sence and memory do make Ordain and Constitute this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following revoking and making void all former or other wills heretofore by me made and this only to stand and be my Last Will and Testament. WILL OF THOMAS STAPLETON:

Proved November 6, 1706, Middlesex Co., Virginia Virginia Will Book 1, page 191.

I bequeath my soul to the Almighty that gave me it and my body, I bequeath to the earth to be burried in such decent manner as my Eecutrix shall think fit.

Item I give and bequeath to my son John Stapleton Two Hundred Acres of Land. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Stapleton all my whole estate and household goods and all belonging thereto. Item I give and bequeath to my son George Stapleton my horse Turk and my Seal Ring. Item I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Stapleton my Sivler Tobacco Cask. Item I give unto my Daughter Anne Stapleton one Silver Tankard. Item I do make and Ordaine Constitute my dearly beloved wife Mary Stapleton to be my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have here unto put my hand and fix my Seal this 19th day of July 1706.

Signed sealed and delivered the mark (X) of Thomas Stapleton in the presence of: F. Corbin, In. Bristow, and Rich. Atwood. As a Court continued and Cols for Middlesex County this 6th day of November 1706. This Will was this day proved in Court by the Oath of Gowin Corbin, In. Bristow, and Richard Atwood, the witness to it and comitte to record. Truely Recorded by Wil Stanard.
