Thomas Spire was baptised on 23rd May 1709 at Ashton under Hill, which was then in Gloucestershire. He was the son of Ann Spire, formerly Dyer, and her husband Thomas Spire, a weaver. Sadly young Thomas died when he was only two years old, being buried at Ashton under Hill on 16th October 1711.
