Thomas Sharai was born in Sodus Township, Michigan and resided there for 40 years, before moving to Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a parade float designer and was employed with the float making company, W. A. Fread Co. of Terre Haute for 25 years. He designed several floats that appeared in the Blommomtime Floral Parade. Thomas was a member of the Berrien County Youth Fair, Boy Scout Troop 411 of Sodus, St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Terre Haute, and was a former 4-H leader in Sodus.
