Facts and Events
1805 - Thomas was christened on Christmas Day. He is listed as Thos. Fowler, son of William and Anne. It was quite common for the mother's name to be recorded at the time of christening. His birth apparently followed the death of another Thomas, born in 1804 and buried in 1805. It is possible, though, that the death record is an error and that the two Thomases are in fact the same person. 1808 - Thomas accompanied his parents on the City of Edinburgh from Norfolk Island to Hobart in Van Diemens Land. He is listed along with Elizabeth and an unknown "Jos" in the book "The Forgotten Generation of Norfolk Island and Van Diemen's Land" by Reg Wright. 1814 - Thomas is listed "on stores" in the children's section of the Hobart muster, probably taken in early October. His parents and siblings are also listed. (Mitchell Library Film CY957) 1838 - Thomas suffered an asthma attack and died. He had never married. He was co-interred with his father in the churchyard of St David's in Hobart. Their gravestone is listed in "Inscriptions in Stone" by Richard Lord and now forms part of a memorial wall in St David's Park in Hobart. References
