  5. Both Binney, p. 183, and Source:Jackson, Francis. History of the Early Settlement of Newton, County of Middlesex, Massachusetts, from 1639 to 1800, p. 395, show Thomas Prentice, s/o Edward, b. 30 Oct 1732, marrying Esther Muzzy. This is unlikely to anyone who studied Esther Muzzy, who was a widow with several children, and 16 years older than the Thomas b. 1732. In fact, she had a daughter only 3 years younger than this Thomas! So it is unlikely she would be marrying a 26 year old man, whereas she would be likely to be marrying a twice widowed man 6 years older than herself. The probate of Thomas Prentice shows that not only was Esther married (referring to money she had by a former husband), but so was Thomas (silver tea spoons belonging to a former wife). Binney even mentions the probate item about spoons belonging to a former wife and still matches her with a Thomas of no known previous marriage, and almost too young to have even had one? Thomas was called Esq. when he married his second wife Borodel, who died in 1756, also when he married Esther in 1758, and also in his probate. Such a title is unlikely for a man just born in 1732.
