Information on Thomas Moore

Notes from Familytreemaker site of D. Michael Hughes of Ingram, Texas: (added with Mr. Hughes permission)

See Harry Long's notes on the Skeen family:

If Aaron Hughes married a Mary Moore and had a child John in 1773, Mary must have been a child of Thomas or a grandchild.

notes by Long state that Thomas Moore was a Quaker.

"Francis Hughes, late of Lancaster PA in 1747, purchased 200 ac of land along the river about a mile east of Timberville, VA. The 200 ac was part of the same 400 formerly owned by James and Eleanor Gill, of which Gill and wife had sold off 200 ac to Quaker, Thomas Hughes in 1745.

Thus Francis Hughes and his family were neighbors of Thomas and Mary Moore, up until Moore moved to Moores Store, in Frederick (now Shenandoah) county.

Thomas and Mary sold 90 acres to Aaron Hughes from the same parcel (400 ac) 15 May 1762.
