Thomas George Mitchell was born in 1900 and baptised on 30th January 1901 at St Paul's Church in Warwick. He was the son of Annie Mitchell, formerly Haley, and her husband William Thomas Mitchell, a porter. Thomas George was the youngest of the couple's three children. He appears in the 1901 and 1911 censuses living with his parents and siblings at 1 Walls Court (or Walls Terrace), Parkes Street, Warwick. The 1911 census gives his name as 'George Thomas', perhaps suggesting that he was known as George. He has yet to be researched after 1911.
