    Welsh: Ar y 12fed o'r mis diweddaf, boddodd trwy gwympo oddi ar fwrdd y llong Claudia, o'r lle uchod, pan ar ei mordaith o St. John i Lisbon, Mr. Thomas Lewis, y prif mate, a mab i'r Parch. Thomas Lewis, Pennant, Ceredigion, yn 27 mlwydd oed. Yr oedd yr ymadawedig yn un o'r dynion icuningc mwyaf hawddgar a ellid ganfod; yr oedd wedi ei fagu yn grefyddol, a derbyniwyd ef yn gyflawn aelod gyda'r Trefnyddion Calfinaidd pan yn ieusage iawn. Prydnawn Sabbath, Tach: 10fed, traddodwyd preguth angladdol ar yr amgylchiad gula rusi gynnulleidfa llicsog, gan y Parch. Evan Evans, o'r lle uchod. Ei destyn ydcedd Rhuf. xiv. 7,8,9, pryd y gwnaeth sylwadau godidog ar nodweddiad crefyddol yr ymadawedig.

    English: On the 12th of last month, drowned by falling off the ship Claudia, of the space above, when on his voyage from St.. John to Lisbon, Mr. Thomas Lewis, the chief mate, and son of the Rev.. Thomas Lewis, Pennant, Ceredigion, is 27 years old. The deceased was one of the most amiable men icuningc could find; he had been brought up religiously, and was admitted to full member with the Calvinistic Methodists when ieusage properly.
