    Thomas Judd, son of William, settled in Waterbury. He married, Feb. 9, 1688, Sarah Freeman, daughter of Stephen Freeman, one of the first settlers of Milford, and afterwards of Newark, N. J. Thomas and Sarah Judd sold land in Milford, that fell to her from the estate of her father, Stephen Freeman, for £60, Dec. 27, 1688. This Thomas Judd was a Blacksmith, a Farmer, Town Clerk some years, a Deacon of the Church, a Captain of the Militia, a Justice of the Peace, and a Deputy to the General Court, at one or both sessions, more than 20 years between 1696 and 1733. His will, dated April 26, 1738, is recorded in the Probate office at Woodbury. He had then one son and five daughters.

He was rep. at 31 sess. had only s. William, and five ds. of wh. Mary was mo. of the disting. theolog. Dr. Samuel Hopkins; and was gr.f of Rev. Jonathan, b. 4 Oct. 1719, Y. C. 1741, first min. of Southampton, Mass. ord. 8 June 1743, wh. d. 28 July 1803, in 84th yr. after more than sixty yrs. serv. This gent. was gr.f. of Sylvester of Northampton, Esquire, a very able genealog. ... WILLIAM, Farmington, eldest br. of the sec. Thomas of the same, prob. b. at Cambridge, possib. in Eng. ..., m. 31 Mar. 1657, Mary, d. of the first John Steele, [had] Thomas, bapt. 12, not (as print. in Geneal. Reg.
