    ENSIGN THOMAS(3) JACOB (Martha(2) APPLETON, Samuel(1); b. 1643 Ipswich; m. SARAH BROWNE on 21 Dec. 1671 Ipswich; m. Mary WHIPPLE, daughter of Lieutenant John WHIPPLE and Mary STEVENS, in 1681/82 Ipswich; d. 1706 Ipswich. He was a freeman in 1674 and a voter and a "Tythingman" in 1679. Thomas was one of the subscribers of the Town Bell in 1699 and had a seat assigned in 1700 "at the Table" in the Meeting-house.
